Genecia Alluora is former Miss Singapore and Southeast Asia Woman of Excellence 2010.
She is the Founder of Soul Rich Woman, the #1 female entrepreneur network in Southeast Asia that connects more than 12,000 women across the region, with presence in 7 countries including Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Indonesia.
Prior to this, she was an owner of a cafe retail chain with a presence in 3 countries and successfully exited to a public listed company.
Profiled in CNBC and China Daily, Genecia is also an expert public speaker and has spoken in recent major events, including the RISE Conference in Hong Kong, Success Conference and Expo Asia 2018 in Hanoi, and National Achievers’ Congress in Manila.
Genecia’s lightbulb moment manifested during a time when she was an image consultant for women. She realized that she was in the cycle of trading her time for money...work and get paid, work more and get paid more. From humble beginnings as a young 14-year-old who had to pay her way through school, Genecia knew the meaning of moonlighting all too well. It was through her own journey that she realized she was meant to help women. Her company Soul Rich Woman emerged as a way to inspire and empower thousands of female entrepreneurs to venture from the offline world to online where they could find their own voice and grow their businesses.
The mission behind Genecia’s business is defined by the three pillars- Fabulous, Freedom, and Financial Independence. Genecia says that a woman deserves to be fabulous and shine, have freedom of voice to say what she wants and do what she wants, and have the financial independence to do more for themselves and their children.
Success is never about glorious wins. It’s about taking a step back and allowing other women to shine as well.
The process wasn’t always, but Genecia kept showing up. Even when there were zero likes and zero in attendance.
It’s about showing up and telling myself, if I don’t show up, who else will?
It’s a common mistake that a lot of entrepreneurs make. They give up too soon, but not Genecia.
Genecia shines a bright light for women everywhere by sharing the power of storytelling. Many people think because she held the title of Miss Singapore that she was always fed from a silver spoon. Through her story of being a poor, disadvantaged, and bullied child, to come out on top, Genecia embodies what it is like to persevere from victim to victor.
I am not going to be a victim of my own circumstances. It’s about shining and taking a step forward to say yes, I can do it.
If you are that person that is two chapters behind, do not worry. Remember, you are not what you’ve done, but what you’ve overcome.
Genecia’s words of wisdom are important for all solopreneurs to hear. She encourages us to ask ourselves:
What's your true desire in your heart?
What are you paying for your mani-pedi? Can you invest that into your business?
What is it that keeps you awake at night?
It’s not just about your logos and your colors. Building a personal brand is many layers it includes visibility, your message, and all of your marketing--including content.
Find your inner voice and stop with the imposter syndrome! Find your own way and be the light that attracts people to you!
Genecia makes you feel like you are her friend, even at the first introduction. Her branding includes many details about herself that allow you to get to know her on a personal level. Genecia is such a magnetic woman who is a force and inspiration. I love that her message and story that she shared with us is about inspiring others to dig deep and that empowered women ultimately empower others.
