Cindy Black, L.Ac. is the founder of Big Tree School of Natural Healing, and the author of Meridian Massage, Opening Pathways to Vitality. Initially trained as a Massage Therapist, she dove into Chinese Medicine when the opportunity presented itself. Based on her experiences, she integrated Classical Chinese Medicine, western massage therapy, lifestyle adjustments, and movement practices into the Meridian Massage Approach.
Cindy is no stranger when it comes to spinning out on the solopreneur journey. Whether it was initially trying to do what all the “expert marketers” told her she should or just general overwhelm that comes with the entrepreneurial path.
She applied her grounded in simplicity philosophy to business and discovered that you could simplify greatly and succeed.
She advises choosing fewer things,...
It’s a common fear that who we are, and what we have to offer is not enough. How we are hardwired to avoid rejection, the way we were raised, and even playing the comparison game, all play a part of this debilitating belief. The belief in “not-enoughness.”
When we are stuck in feeling less than, it paralyzes us from taking action, moving forward, and sharing our talents. It’s almost like PTSD in the way that we can’t seem to get past the thoughts of not being good enough, thin enough, smart enough, rich enough, etc. I’ve seen this pattern gobble up years of people’s lives (including mine). And it’s senseless.
Who says when enough is enough? There isn’t some superpower that reigns overhead with a checklist and cloke. I believe it’s the inner critique within us...
Here are the highlights of my interview with Gina Tager: Mind Body Eating Coach on Women Developing Brilliance.

No matter if you are just starting out in business or have been at it for a while, utilizing a catalog of online tools is a must-have resource for any solopreneur. Whether you are trying to DIY your graphics, effectively communicate with your team, or project manage like a wizard — there’s an app for that!
One of the keys is to not get overwhelmed.
My best advice is to prioritize the one area that you need the most support on right now in your business and learn the tool that best fits your needs. Once it’s implemented and you’re comfortable with it, then proceed down the list and continue on.
Soon, you’ll be navigating like a PRO and wonder how you lived without these tools!
Here is a guide to my favorite online resources that I’ve been using for years. There are hundreds of choices out there for online business management. I’m...
Mackenzie Piccarreto is an Integrative Health Expert, recipe developer, and all around wellness junkie. She founded her blog, Mackenzies Table, to share recipes, tips, and overall thoughts on what it means to live a vibrant, health-conscious life.
Mackenzie teaches that being healthy doesn’t have to be complicated or taste bad, that when we really listen to our bodies, everything falls into place.
Mackenzie shared how being a solopreneur can be isolating and a totally different scene than having co-workers. We talked about how easy it is to compare yourself to others online and get completely distracted.
She said, having a super supportive girl network in Rochester, NY has been a major contributor to her success.
Being able to rely on a trusted network that gets what you’re trying to accomplish and that you...
Yes! That’s a powerful statement, but it’s true.
Because, when we are left to our devices it’s all too easy to get distracted, have the best intentions, and produce at half-speed because it’s “good enough.”
You know you need a coach when you feel like you’re spinning your wheels. Like you are putting in your best efforts but don’t really seem to be progressing forward.
I started doing some market research for my own coaching business. And searched some of the top Facebook groups where women solopreneurs were hanging out.
I was listening to their experiences of having various coaches (health, money mindset, spirituality, business) and was gleaning a lot of valuable insight.
And then it dawned on me, this sounds like exactly what I need!...

Could it be true? Just 1 step to taking action? Not the top 7 steps to taking action?
Because if it’s not easy, doable, and something that we can manage, then most likely it’ll end up on the back burner or at the bottom of the “to do” list.
Can you relate?
So, the #1 step to taking action is taken directly from Nike’s core branding message, “Just Do It!”
We could drag this out to have oodles of steps, strategies, and systems explaining all the whys and wherefores…but honestly, do you really need that? For myself, I already know “what” to do, it’s really about putting one foot in front of the other and implementing.
Does it mean that it’s “easy?” No! But not much in life that is worthwhile and invigorating is. Sometimes just accepting that fact makes it more manageable.
Crista Beck, The Love Radar, is a dating expert who teaches single people who are seeking a healthy and long-term relationship how to attract quality dating partners, increase their confidence, and take the actions necessary to have the love they deeply desire. She is regarded by her clients as a “romantic healer” due to her holistic and conscious approach to finding a meaningful relationship in the era of hookup culture and online dating.
Crista was always curious about cosmic love, relationships, and spirituality as a young girl. After she read The 4-Hour Work Week by Timothy Ferris she was motivated to travel to Thailand and create an online business, as the author suggested.
From there, she approached her new business very strategically. At the time (now almost 10 years ago), the underserved keyword in the love and...
So most of you (hopefully) know the benefits of branding, but what about rebranding?
Wikipedia states, “Rebranding is a marketing strategy in which a new name, term, symbol, design, or combination thereof is created for an established brand with the intention of developing a new, differentiated identity in the minds of consumers, investors, competitors, and other stakeholders.”
When I created my initial brand, I decided I was going to use the DIY online tools that were available, like Canva, PicMonkey, and Gimp to create my look and feel. I got color inspiration from Design Seeds and Pantone.com. I found fonts on Creative Market. I took selfies with my cell. The only things that I hired out were my business cards, which I sourced on Fiverr. Here’s what I came up with:
